Our own or a stranger? When do we accept a stranger as one of our own? Is it at all possible? These problems do not concern only human society but also natural biotic communities. For most species, natural barriers are insurmountable, unless some environmental upheaval opens the gates for them. The only exception is we humans, who, with increasing aggressiveness, try to break down the natural boundaries of time and space, dragging other living creatures along with us. The raccoon dog, the main character in the film, is one of the species that was introduced in Estonia by people. The film observes the ecological and ethical problems connected with the raccoon dog. But first and foremost, it is an enchanting expedition into the life and ways of this elusive, nocturnal animal. The viewer gets an opportunity to take a fleeting glimpse at an aspect of nature, which, without the help of the camera, would be impossible.
